In this course, students will make a classroom-wide Rube Goldberg machine! A Rube Goldberg machine is a deliberately complex contraption in which a series of devices that perform simple tasks are linked together to produce a domino effect. Basically, one device triggers the next device in the sequence to perform the final task. The expression is named after American cartoonist and inventor of such contraptions, Rube Goldberg (1883–1970).
Once this machine is complete, we will film it and edit the video so it matches up with a song. See the video to the left.
Requirements:
This session will only be open to the first 13 students due to the availability of equipment and must have all 13 to go. There is a $10 supply fee included in the $70 cost.
