ABOUT

Overview

Keep your child’s learning alive throughout the summer. Our Summer STEM sessions offer several weeks of hands-on fun and learning for your child going into grades 4-7 in the 2017-2018 school year. For some, these courses are an opportunity to have fun doing something completely different. For others, it’s an opportunity to see a potential career path they should follow.

Whether your child’s experience is for a hobby or a potential career path in the future, these sessions will allow them to learn and explore in a safe environment facilitated by a certified teacher.

Goals

  1. Provide opportunities for potential career paths: These sessions will expose your child to many fields within the technology spectrum and will allow them to explore different paths that they may follow for a career.

  2. Safe, fun environment to explore and extend learning into the summer: All of these sessions are led by a certified teacher that will provide a safe learning environment for your child that is full of fun, educational activities and projects.

Specifications

The Summer STEM Academy course offerings are one week sessions that run in the morning from 8:30 am until 11:30 am or in the afternoon from 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm. Parents will drop off their children in the front lobby of the high school and the child will be waiting in the lobby for prompt pickup at the end of the session.

There will be a break between sessions for a lunch (Not Provided). The courses will cost $60 per session. Some of the sessions may have a supplies fee added to the course charge. Students can register for both sessions during a week and bring a lunch to eat during the break between sessions. Courses must meet their minimum enrollment or the course will be cancelled. The sessions are limited so registration is on a first come, first served basis.
