The schedule below is in calendar format and only runs during the month of July. The courses run in one of two sessions. There is the morning session that runs from 8:30 am - 11:30 am or the afternoon session that runs from 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm.

Please check the FAQ's to answer most of the questions that you may have about the Summer STEM Academy. If you can't find the answer to your question here, please email your question through the Contact Me page.

There are five different courses available during the Summer STEM Academy. Students can register for one or more of the course offerings. Sessions have both a minimum and maximum number of students. If the minimum enrollment is not met, the course will not run.

Cromwell Public Schools would like to help keep your child’s learning alive throughout the summer. Our Summer STEM sessions offer several weeks of hands-on fun and learning for your child going into grades 4-7 in the 2017-2018 school year.

 

For some, these courses are an opportunity to have fun doing something completely different. For others, it’s an opportunity to see a potential career path they should follow. Whether your child’s experience is for a hobby or a potential career path in the future, these sessions will allow them to learn and explore in a safe environment facilitated by a certified teacher.

FAQ's

Can I sign my child up for more than one class?

Yes. You can sign your child up for one, multiple, or all of the STEM sessions. Sessions fill up on a first come, first served basis, so you may get into some classes and not into others based on the prior enrollment. If a classes' minimum enrollment number is not met, the class will not be run and you will be reimbursed for the course.

When will I find out if my child got into the courses that they registered for?

A students registration is not complete until the check is turned into the school office and date stamped as received. Students will be notified that they were accepted into a course as soon as the courses minimum has been met. They will be notified via the email address that you supply during the registration process. Once a class is full, any extra registrants will be notified immediately that they did not make it into the course.

How do I register my child for a course?

To register your child for courses, click on the register button and fill out all of the required information. Once the form is completed, click on the button to submit it. You will then need to send a check made out to Cromwell Public Schools in to the office at your child's school in an envelope labeled Summer STEM. Your spot in the classes is not reserved until the payment is received. It will be date stamped when it is received in the office. Make sure that you pay for the total number of sessions that you registered for on the form.

No. You can register for all of the classes for one student on one form. You should fill out a separate form for each child.

Do I need to fill out a separate form for each course?

Where does my child go for the first day of class?

All courses will take place at Cromwell High school. You will meet the instructor in the lobby of the high school each morning before class starts. At the conclusion of the class, the instructor will bring the students to the lobby and send them out as soon as their ride arrives; no need to get out of your car. Please be sure to arrive promptly at the the time the course ends as the instructor will not be able to wait with students beyond the scheduled time.
